Sandy Hartigan
Bio: I am a native of New Orleans and
began painting at the age of 4.  I painted
or drew mostly pictures of horses, faces,
people and fashioned my own paper
doll's wardrobe, which was pretty
impressive.

Training: I had no training until high
school where I had Art for three years.
I began
Commercial Art at John
McCrady
in New Orleans but it was
not my thing so I left.   I lived overseas
for 5 years and studied landscapes in
Manila for about 6 months and also, for
a short time,  studied at the
University
of Singapore
where I learned more
about pencil drawing and shading to add
dimension to my work.

Medium:  I've used Acrylics, Pastels,
Pencil and Prismacolor pencils until
recently, when I decided to learn
Watercolor.  I am presently
experimenting with different methods of
watercolor and am thoroughly enjoying
the challenge.
:"Arriving Storm" - pastel - took Best
