MARLENA
DOHERTY
started to follow her dream to become
painting for 25 years.  She has studied
at the New Orleans Academy of Fine
Arts.  She also has studied with June
Lampe and Terry Madden, taking his
teacher's workshop.
Favorite subjects:  landscapes, still
life, seascapes, flowers, houses, topical
themes and Maya art.
Memberships:  Metairie Art Guild,
New Orleans Art Association,
Jefferson Art Guild.
Exhibitions: Marlena's work has been
shown in "Vision Diverse, Belizean
Art," "The Business of Art XVI," given
by The Mayor's Office of Tourism,
Arts and Entertainment in New
Orleans, "Vision Hispana," a Louisiana
Bicentennial event sponsored by the
Cervantes School of Hispanic Art and
River Oaks Square Arts Center of
Alexandria, Louisiana, "Hecho a
Mano," an art show sponsored by the
Venezuelan Consulate of New
Orleans.  Her artwork has also been
exhibited in several Metairie Art Guild
shows and New Orleans Art
Association at Lakeside Mall,
Oakwood Center and the World
Trade Center.  She has participated in
Swamp Fest and French Quarter
Festival and has been commissioned to
do artwork.
Awards: She has won several awards
from Metairie Art Guild and New
Orleans Art Association.
